It is my privilege to serve the students, staff, parents and community members of District 77. Dakota Meadows Middle School (DMMS) is one of two middle level schools serving Mankato's 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Each grade level is organized into two teams or small learning communities. This allows students and staff to connect and develop a personalized learning approach. Our curriculum is organized into core areas, exploratory and elective courses. We have an eight period day with 45 minute class periods. Our students and staff begin their day with a homeroom/advisory period. This program supports our goal of providing an adult advocate for every student, an emphasis on reading and literacy, community building and student-led conferences. At DMMS, we embrace the fundamental principles of the middle school philosophy. We understand young people undergo rapid and profound changes between the ages of 11-14 years. We see this as our mission to create and maintain a system developmentally responsive to the needs of all learners. This, however, cannot be successfully accomplished without a partnership among school, home and community. Please feel free to contact us at DMMS for more details regarding our school and/or approach to teaching middle level students. Our office staff is here to serve you from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

I look forward to working with you as a team to help each student at DMMS meet their goals and have a successful school year! Go Scarlets!

Meet our Administrators

Andrew Kellenberger, Assistant principal

I am honored to serve you in the assistant principal role and look forward to continuing my work with our staff, in our efforts to do whatever it takes to advance the achievement of all students at DMMS. Working together, I am confident that we will continue to provide our students with a rigorous and enriching middle school experience.  Dakota Meadows Middle School is a special and unique community of which I am proud to be a part.

The middle school years are important and critical times for students. What happens during these years will have a lasting impression on their growth and development.  I am confident that our school will continue to be a place where our students can learn and grow both academically and socially.
